After God sends Cain away from his parents, he still blesses him with children. Who did he marry? One of his sisters of course. They were the only people on the earth. The Bible does not say how many children he had or how long he lived. Nothing much is mentioned about him or his descendants except that Lamech killed a man and boasted that God forgave Cain so he would also forgive him. God won't forgive you because He forgives someone else. He will only forgive you if you ask. I think the reason there is not much mentioned is because they didn't live for God. No one from this line was saved during the Flood.
When Cain murdered Abel I think they were the only two sons that Adam and Eve had. The reason I think this is because Genesis 4:25 says: And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. We are not told much about this line either but we do have more information especially about some of them.
Enoch, the son of Jared, walked with God after his son Methusaleh was born. This means he was in constant communion with God. He put Him first. He lived this way for 300 years. Then one day, God just took him. He didn't die. We need to live that way today. Just think what blessings He would bestow on us if we would just "walk with God".
Then there was Noah, Enoch's great-grandson. God had already taken Enoch home when little Noah was born. I'm sure he heard the stories about how his great-grandfather had lived for God. He tried to follow in his footsteps. He must have done a good job because God chose him to repopulate the world.
All the men mentioned in chapter 5 lived hundreds of years. Not only did they get to learn from their fathers and grandfathers but they also learned from their great and great great grandfathers. It is also sad that Cain's descendant's that were born while Adam and Eve were still alive could not be taught by them. How much different would their lives have been if their father Cain had not killed his brother? We are not the only ones who suffer for our sins, our descendants also reap what we sow.
God has great purposes for each of us if we will only put Him first in our lives. Our talent may not seem like much now, but we don't know how much of an impact it will have on other generations to come.
I hope these articles are a blessing to you. I know they are to me as I study and pray. May God bless you in your daily walk with Him.
