The first time I was asked to teach my ladies Sunday School class I was terrified. I was asked on Wednesday night for the following Sunday. We were studying Matthew and the chapter I had to teach I didn't understand. I kept saying, "God I can't but I will". I had no idea where to start or what materials to use. I didn't have anything that the preachers use and had no idea what to buy. I had no internet access so that route was out. I immediately went home and got my late grandmother's family Bible which has references in it. I asked God for help and He reminded me that I also had: the complete set of Bible Story books (the ones you see in the doctor's office), a Who's Who in the Bible, 2 small Bible dictionaries, a small concordance, and a set of The Desire of Ages. I prayed and read everything as much as possible (I even used down time at work) and by Saturday afternoon, I was ready to run it by my stepfather who is a former preacher but is now a truck driver. He listened very intently and when I was finished he closed his Bible and said I had it exactly. My "pupils" were very impressed and I have taught several times since then.
